This is a bottle of water that a colleague gave me after she attended a conference in Taiwan, just after the 2016 South China Sea Arbitration (which declared, among other things, that many of purported islands in the South China Sea were not legally islands, but rocks, incapable of supporting human life).  At the conference, the then-President of Taiwan delivered the keynote, distributing these bottles of water to the crowd, stating that they had come from a well on one of the ‘rocks’.  Apparently, his address culminated in him drinking the water in front of the crowd to demonstrate how the PCA had got it wrong – because if they really were rocks, how could Taiwan sink a well on them, such that they could bottle the water?
